The 2016 Disney Challenge – Another Outstanding Success!

The day after The Disney Challenge, I usually do whatever I can to turn off and avoid all things Disney Challenge. The exhaustion of pulling off a huge event like this is usually overwhelming. Well…this year is a little different. I am so excited today about how incredibly well things went, I spend all day today closing out The 2016 Disney Challenge. That’s right kids…all pages here on the the webpage are updated. (See links below.)

And more good news…we announced last night at the Awards Ceremony that we are doing another Mini Disney Challenge on Sunday, November 6th 2016. Looks like The Disney Challenge Event Crew’s rest this year will be brief. Soon we will be roaming around Downtown Disney and the hotels looking for more questions to drive you guys crazy. This is what we call Fun!!!

I want to say Thank You one more time to all of you who play each and every year, and a big Welcome to all those new teams who have just discovered this crazy thing we call The Disney Challenge. We hope you have as much fun playing as we do putting it on and pulling it off.

So…I’m sure you are all excited to see the Answer Key, the Team Scores & Places, the photos, and for four of you…your names in the Hall of Fame. Congrats again to all of you for doing so incredibly well this year!

The 2015 “Minnie” Disney Challenge Was A Success!

On November 8th, 2015, The Disney Challenge had its first ever “Minnie” Disney Challenge. This was a completely different challenge played exclusively OUTSIDE the gates of the parks. 12 teams took over Downtown Disney, The Hotels, and The Esplanade to compete in a shorter, faster but just as challenging scavenger hunt. We kicked off the challenge at noon in the picnic area, and the teams had to figure out where the finish line was. They all did because at 4pm, all of the teams met at Tangaroa Terrace to turn in their packets. The awards ceremony took place at 6pm back at the Picnic Area, where a brand new team, Frank ‘n Weenies, were crowned the 2015 “Minnie” champions.

One of the things I have always loved about The Disney Challenge was the camaraderie amongst the teams and players. This year, we had two examples of how our challenges bring people together. The White Rabbits, who placed 6th, formed their team when two players asked for a third member on the Disney Challenge Facebook page, and there was another person who wanted to participate but had no team respond. We also another possible problem when two teams of three each lost one of their members the night before the challenge. These teams contacted me, and I was able to bring them together to form Dr. Disney, who ended up placing 5th.

Check out the photos we just added to the website, as well as the newly updated Hall of Fame. We also added the Answer Key, Rules, Team Scores, and Places for The 2015 “Minnie” Disney Challenge here. Keep checking back here and on the Facebook page for the information on The 2016 Disney Challenge happening in June.

Meet The New Crew!

As The Disney Challenge grows to numbers we never thought we’d ever see, so does its wonderful volunteer crew. As of today, we have thirteen awesome crew members. I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of them for the hours of work they put in prior to, and the day of The Disney Challenge. We’d like you to meet them all and you can right here. Check out the “Crew” Page and, if you enjoy the work they do bringing you The Disney Challenge, say thank you to them next time you see them.

All New Registration System To Be Unveiled

With the introduction of The “Minnie” Disney Challenge on November 8th 2015, we are very proud to unveil an all new (and MUCH SIMPLER) registration process. Team registration will now be handled on this very website. It’s simple, it’s efficient, and best of all, the Team Registration and Registration Donation will both be handled on the same page. Here’s how it will work:

At 12:01am on October 2nd the “Register A Team” link at the top of the webpage will go live. Clicking this link will take you to the team Registration Form. All you have to do is fill out the form, click submit, click on the PayPal button, pay your registration donation, and Voila! Your team is registered.

You will still receive a confirmation email within 24 hours with the Rules Overview and the location of the starting line, just like in years past.

With this new registration system in place, we have also revamped, updated, and combined the “Rules” and “Register” parts of the website into one page called “How To Play”. We HIGHLY recommend clicking on that link and reading it over BEFORE registering a team. (It’s live now so don’t wait!)

Special thanks to Event Crew Member Johanna for creating the Registration Form! We look forward to seeing you all at The Disney Challenge!

Announcing the ALL NEW Mini-Disney Challenge!

In November of 2015, The Disney Challenge will present a brand new event: The Mini-Disney Challenge. This will be a half-day event, taking place in Downtown Disney. All questions and puzzles can be answered between the Esplanade and the Hotels, so that means no actual park admission will be required for this challenge.

While The Mini-Disney Challenge is still in pre-production at this time and will undoubtedly change and morph into something weird and wonderful, we have a few details we can release at this time.
• The start time will be noon on Sunday, November 8th.
• The Challenge will end at either 3pm or 4pm with the awards ceremony 2-3 hours after that.
• It will include such category favorites as DINGO, a Photo Challenge, Picture This, as well as our usual wacky questions and who knows…maybe something brand new!
• The cost will be around $20-$25 per team.

We are super excited to finally bring you this new concept we have been talking about for years now. How excited are you to play?
