All New Registration System To Be Unveiled

With the introduction of The “Minnie” Disney Challenge on November 8th 2015, we are very proud to unveil an all new (and MUCH SIMPLER) registration process. Team registration will now be handled on this very website. It’s simple, it’s efficient, and best of all, the Team Registration and Registration Donation will both be handled on the same page. Here’s how it will work:

At 12:01am on October 2nd the “Register A Team” link at the top of the webpage will go live. Clicking this link will take you to the team Registration Form. All you have to do is fill out the form, click submit, click on the PayPal button, pay your registration donation, and Voila! Your team is registered.

You will still receive a confirmation email within 24 hours with the Rules Overview and the location of the starting line, just like in years past.

With this new registration system in place, we have also revamped, updated, and combined the “Rules” and “Register” parts of the website into one page called “How To Play”. We HIGHLY recommend clicking on that link and reading it over BEFORE registering a team. (It’s live now so don’t wait!)

Special thanks to Event Crew Member Johanna for creating the Registration Form! We look forward to seeing you all at The Disney Challenge!

Announcing the ALL NEW Mini-Disney Challenge!

In November of 2015, The Disney Challenge will present a brand new event: The Mini-Disney Challenge. This will be a half-day event, taking place in Downtown Disney. All questions and puzzles can be answered between the Esplanade and the Hotels, so that means no actual park admission will be required for this challenge.

While The Mini-Disney Challenge is still in pre-production at this time and will undoubtedly change and morph into something weird and wonderful, we have a few details we can release at this time.
• The start time will be noon on Sunday, November 8th.
• The Challenge will end at either 3pm or 4pm with the awards ceremony 2-3 hours after that.
• It will include such category favorites as DINGO, a Photo Challenge, Picture This, as well as our usual wacky questions and who knows…maybe something brand new!
• The cost will be around $20-$25 per team.

We are super excited to finally bring you this new concept we have been talking about for years now. How excited are you to play?

Annual Passholder Glow with the Show at Fantasmic Event!

On Tuesday, August 28th, Disneyland is previewing a special presentation of Fantasmic!, with new Glow with the Show additions!

You may be asking, “what is Glow with the Show?” Glow with the Show uses advanced Mickey Mouse ears, in which the iridescent ears light up in sync with the show. World of Color in Disney’s California Adventure already utilizes this technology. Here is a link which showcases this amazing technology!

Now that you know how amazing Glow with the Show is, let me go back to explaining the Fantasmic! event. This presentation of Glow with the Show at Fantasmic! is for Annual Passholders only (sorry guys!) The event starts at 10pm, with select attractions, shops, and food places open until Midnight. The Fantasmic! show begins at 11:30pm. Although the Glow with the Show Mickey Mouse ears are not being given out for free at this event, you could bring your own (if you already own a pair), or buy them ahead of time at Disney’s California Adventure. Disneyland may sell the ears prior to the Fantasmic! show, but I cannot guarantee this, so plan accordingly!

Visit this link for more information about the Glow with Show at Fantasmic! event as well as how to register for it!

Leave a message below if you plan on going, and I hope we can arrange a meet up at the park!

D23 Expo 2013 Tickets Now on Sale!

If you haven’t heard, tickets went on sale today for the 2013 D23 Expo, held at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 9th – 11th! Squee!

Of course you may be asking…what is D23, and why do I want to go to this expo?

D23 is the official Disney fan club. Every two years, thousands of Disney fanatics from all over the world meet at the Anaheim Convention Center for “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.” Live events introduce upcoming Disney Park attractions, films, and other surprises. Famous imagineers and other Disney key dignitaries delight Disneyana enthusiasts with their behind-the-scenes secrets and knowledge. And of course, exhibitors sell everything Disney, from t-shirts to  props from Disney movies and attractions.

I’ve been lucky to have attended both the 2009 and 2011 Disney Expos. I loved all the showcases I attended, especially the ones that introduced the upcoming Disney attractions being built at every Disney park around the world. The showcase that featured upcoming Disney films had more stars appearances than the Oscars! Just in 2011, I saw most of the stars from The Avengers, Jennifer Garner, Willem Dafoe, and the cast of the Muppets (the best ones!) In 2009, Dave got to see Johnny Depp, dressed as and acting like Jack Sparrow! The Legends Awards, which pays tribute to the men and women who have made significant contributions to the Disney community, is heartfelt and not one to miss.

Of course, the shopping is the best! There is no way you’ll leave the Expo without picking up a little momento of your visit, or in Dave’s and my situation, a lot of momentos!!

Lastly, the energy and enthusiasm in the air is electrifying! To be surrounded by over 40.000 Disney fans, you can’t help but share your own Disney stories and experiences. For three days, the Disney Expo is “the happiest place on Earth.”

For the 2013 Disney Expo, there will be an added treat! The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit, which is currently displayed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum in Simi Valley, will be there. Over 12,000 feet of set pieces, props, and costumes from Disney’s past and present will be on hand for everyone to see. If you haven’t seen this exhibit yet, this is a great bonus!

Don’t worry if you’re not a D32 member (but I highly recommend joining!) Everyone can attend, and there are one-day and three-day ticket packages available. Visit the D23 Expo official page at http://d23.disney.go.com/d23-expo-2013/ to learn more about the D23 Expo and ticket prices.

Shout out below if you’ll be attending the 2013 Disney Expo! If you’ve attended a previous D23 Expo, write a comment below, letting us know how your experience was and any tips and suggestions for new D23 Expo attendees!
