Glow with the Show at Fantasmic Review

What were you doing this past Tuesday night? If you were one of the lucky Annual Passholders to grab tickets to Disneyland’s latest Glow with the Show experiment, then you might have seen Johanna, Becca, and myself, along with some of our friends watching the newest Disney Parks technology make it’s debut at Disneyland.

Glow with the Show started earlier this year at Disney’s California Adventure. On a night much like this past Tuesday, a few thousand Annual Passholders were invited to watch World of Color, while wearing the newest Mickey Glow Ears that sync with the show. It was truly a site to behold! However, the ears interact with more than just World of Color;wWalk past Luigi’s Tires in Cars Land, and they turn green, red, and white (the colors of the Italian Flag). Head over to The Mad T Party, and they dance to the music. It was a California Adventure exclusive experience until now.

We got a sneak preview, and as much as I like Fantasmic by itself, it was amazing watching the fourth wall being broken and seeing the show encapsulate the audience as well as The Rivers of America. When the music changes or when different characters appear, the ears change with them. They flash and strobe during the thunder and lightning sound effects, and they even sparkle and flash different colors to go along with the scenes. Seeing Fantasmic with thousands of diehard Disney fans is always fun, but this select group of Annual Passholders brought or bought their ears, and it was absolutely magical. There are even rumors that some Disneyland attractions will incorporate this technology, but nothing been confirmed as of today.

On Friday, August 31st, you can use your Glow With The Show ears with Fantasmic. I highly recommend watching Fantasmic or World of Color with these ears. Make sure you pick up a pair so you can be a part of the magic!
